The full title of this remarkable piece is "Plan of Proposed New Street - Waingate to Blonk Street and Furnival Road; Widening of Exchange Street; Alteration of Banks of River Sheaf; and Acquisition of Lands for Markets". It was meticulously surveyed by Charles F Wike, the City Surveyor at that time. The scale used in this plan is 41.66 feet: 1 inch, ensuring a precise representation of the city's layout during that era.
