The divorce was a scandal at the time and caused a great stir in high society. Following her divorce from the duke, Anne married John Fitzpatrick, 2nd Earl of Upper Ossory, a wealthy Irish nobleman. The couple's marriage brought them great happiness and they had several children together. Anne's second husband was known for his generosity and patronage of the arts, and the couple lived in style at their estate in County Kildare, Ireland. Tragically, Anne's life was cut short when she passed away in 1804 at the age of 55. This portrait, which captures her in her youth and beauty, serves as a poignant reminder of her fascinating and complex history.
