1. Title: "A Vision of Enchantment: Dorothea Baird, the Captivating English Actress of the Late 1800s" In this evocative black-and-white portrait, Dorothea Baird (1875-1933) captivates our attention with her ethereal beauty and enchanting presence. Born in England, Baird embarked on her acting career in 1894, debuting as Iris in the Oxford University Dramatic Society's production of "The Tempest." Her talent and passion for the stage were soon recognized, leading to several notable performances in Shakespearean productions, often alongside her husband, the renowned actor H.B. Irving. The year 1904 marked a significant milestone in Baird's career when she portrayed the role of Mrs. Darling in the original production of "Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up."
