This exquisite hand-colored copperplate engraving showcases an enchanting array of butterflies, moths, and insects, drawn from the natural world and meticulously rendered by the skilled hand of Christian Leinberger. Originally published in Georg Wolfgang Knorr's Deliciae Naturae Selectae, or Select Rarities of Nature, this illustration was produced in Nuremberg in 1771. The work was part of a larger collection, known as a Wunderkammer or Cabinet of Curiosities, belonging to the esteemed naturalist P.L. Muller.
