This print showcases the frontispiece from a souvenir album of the Juvenile Fancy Dress Ball held in Leeds on January 12th, 1891. The ball was organized to celebrate the silver wedding anniversary of Alfred Cooke and Mrs. Alf Cooke, the Mayor and Mayoress of Leeds at that time. The photograph album is large and leather-bound, with gold inscriptions on the front stating "Souvenir January 12th, 1891" along with the Leeds coat of arms. Inside the album's first page is an inscription detailing that this fancy dress ball was given by Mr. and Mrs. Alf Cooke themselves as a commemoration of their Silver Wedding Anniversary. The Stewards presented this album to Lady Mayoress in honor of her milestone celebration.
