Watercress, identified by its Latin name Nasturtium officinale, is depicted in the center of the illustration. This aquatic plant is native to Europe and Asia and is renowned for its peppery flavor and nutritious properties. It has been used for centuries in salads, garnishes, and even as a medicinal herb, with potential benefits for thyroid health and immune system support. To the left of Watercress, Pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium) is illustrated. This herb, also known as Puddyroyal or Pudding Grass, is a member of the mint family and is characterized by its small, purple-blue flowers.
