EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a collection of prestigious and ornate decorations from the United Kingdom's Order of the Bath. At the top, we are presented with a plaque of the Knight Grand Cross, Civil Division, offered by King George V and Queen Mary to Clive Wigram in 1935. This exquisite piece is adorned with gold, diamonds, and enamels, standing at an impressive height of 7.8 cm and weighing 56 g. Moving to the left side of the image, we encounter a badge of the Knight Grand Cross, Civil Division. Manufactured by John James Dington in London following an Ordinance Model from 1827, this golden emblem measures 4.2 cm in height and weighs 14 g. In the center lies another badge belonging to the military division but designed specifically for royal princes during the early 19th century. Crafted with gold and enamels, this regal insignia stands at a height of 4.3 cm and has a weight of 20 g. Finally, on our right side rests yet another badge representing the Knight Grand Cross but within its civil division variant. Created by James Edwards in London back in 1838 using pure gold materials; it measures approximately 4.2 cm in height while being only1.3 cm wide - all while maintaining a weighty presence at18 g. These remarkable pieces form part of an anonymous private collection that highlights both historical significance and artistic craftsmanship within British honors systems throughout history.
