Gates of Isa Khan Niyazi Tomb

Isa Khan Niyazis Tomb:
Constructed in 1547 CE, it is the tomb complex of Isa Khan Niyazi, an Afghan noble in Sher Shah Suris court of the Suri dynasty, who fought against the Mughals. The octagonal tomb is positioned within an octagonal garden, which was built during his own lifetime and the reign of Islam Shah Suri, son of Sher Shah. It later served as a burial place for the entire family of Isa Khan.
The octagonal tomb bears a striking resemblance to other tombs of the Sur dynasty monuments in the Lodhi Gardens, in Delhi and demonstrates a marked progression in the development of the exquisite architectural style of the main tomb. Some of the architectural details present here were seen later in the main Humayuns tomb, though on a much grander scale, such as the tomb being placed in a walled garden enclosure.
Humayuns tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the magnificent Gates of Isa Khan Niyazi Tomb, a testament to the rich history and architectural brilliance of India. Constructed in 1547 CE, this tomb complex was built for Isa Khan Niyazi, an Afghan noble who valiantly fought against the Mughals during the reign of Sher Shah Suri. The octagonal tomb stands proudly within an equally stunning octagonal garden that was meticulously designed during Isa Khan's lifetime and under the rule of Islam Shah Suri. Serving as a final resting place for Isa Khan's entire family, this sacred site holds immense historical significance. Notably, the intricate details adorning this tomb bear resemblance to other monuments from the Sur dynasty found in Delhi's Lodhi Gardens. It represents a remarkable progression in architectural style and design, with some elements later influencing Humayun's grandiose tomb on a larger scale. Humayun's Tomb itself is an iconic masterpiece dedicated to Mughal Emperor Humayun. Located in Delhi, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. Interestingly enough, nestled within its expansive complex lies the awe-inspiring Isa Khan Niyazi Tomb. Through Ankur Dauneria's lens at Fine Art Storehouse, this print encapsulates not only India's architectural marvels but also invites us to delve into its vibrant past where nobles like Isa Khan left indelible marks on history.
