Men of Princess Patricias Canadian Light Infantry, 1915, (c1920). Creator: Unknown
Men of Princess Patricias Canadian Light Infantry, 1915, (c1920)....the First of the Canadian Contingent to reach the Fighting Line: Colour party with the colours [military flag] worked and presented by Princess Patricia herself. The Princess Patricias Regiment was established in August 1914 at the start of the First World War. Their name comes from Princess Patricia of Connaught, daughter of the Duke of Connaught, who was Governor-General of Canada at the time. The regiment served with distinction on the Western Front, with three of its members, Lieutenant Hugh McKenzie, Sergeant George Mullin and Sergeant Robert Spall, being awarded the Victoria Cross.
