Polcovnik Jancoff: The Macedonian Rebel - A Tale of Transnational Identity and Allegiance This evocative photograph captures the enigmatic figure of Polcovnik Jancoff, a Russian colonel who became a pivotal figure in the Macedonian rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in the late 19th century.
