The kukri, a traditional Nepalese curved knife, was an essential tool for the Gurkha soldiers serving in the British Indian Army during World War One (1914-1918). The blade's fuller, a hollowed-out area along the edge, was designed to reduce the weight of the blade and improve its cutting ability. The kukri came complete with a service scabbard and frog, which were used to securely attach the knife to the soldier's waist.
