This stunning chromolithograph depicts a King Louis XVI-style wall hanging from around 1900. The intricately designed piece features a gilt wood pelmet, ornate gourd-shaped lambrequin, plush drapes, and satin curtains. The room's decor is further enhanced by a chair and window dressed in similar fabrics, with a painted decoration of the "Croisee Louis XV" motif adorning the wall. The design is based on an illustration by Ernest Foussier from his "Nouveaux Modèles de Tentures, Decorations de Fenêtres" (New Models of Wall Hangings, Window Decorations), published by E. Thezard Fils, a renowned French architectural library in Dourdan. Foussier, an architect and interior decorator, was known for his innovative designs that blended traditional and neo-Grec styles.
