Created by an unknown artist and published by His Majesty's Stationery Office in London in 1942, this historical artifact provides a visual narrative of the British Royal Navy aircraft carrier's significant engagements throughout World War II. The map encompasses vast regions including the Atlantic Ocean, western Europe, and Africa, highlighting key moments such as hunting down the formidable Graf Spee from October to December 1939 and trapping the mighty Bismarck in May 1941. It also depicts crucial operations like guarding Sierra Leone convoys in 1941, covering British landings in April 1940, and attacking Scharnhorst battleship in June of that same year.
