EDITORS COMMENTS
This exquisite and extremely rare official White Star Line poster, circa 1910-1911, showcases a commanding image of the RMS Olympic and RMS Titanic at sea. The poster, which measures 23 x 18 inches, is framed and glazed for preservation. The ships are depicted in a 3/4 starboard view with sharp, vivid colors and anatomically correct details, including smoke coming only from the first three funnels on each vessel as we would expect from an officially produced image. The poster is headed on the mount "White Star Line Southampton. Cherbourg, Queenstown, New York," and is accompanied by the tagline "Triple Screw, RMS Olympic 45,000 tons" and "RMS Titanic 45,000 tons." The image was printed by Norman and Sons of Nottingham and painted by James Mann. The RMS Olympic and RMS Titanic were sister ships of the White Star Line, known for their size and luxury. The Titanic famously sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 after hitting an iceberg, making this poster a fascinating historical artifact. The poster's vibrant colors and intricate details make it a stunning addition to any maritime collection or decor. This poster is not to be confused with the White Star Line company, but rather an agent's promotional material. It is not intended for commercial use and is best appreciated as a beautiful piece of maritime history.
