Corona Australis, or the Southern Crown, is a constellation located in the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. This engraving of the constellation, titled "De Stelle Fisse" or "Of Fixed Stars," was created by the Italian humanist Alessandro Piccolomini in 1559. Piccolomini was a scholar, philosopher, and astronomer who made significant contributions to the study of the stars and the constellations. The image shows Corona Australis as it appeared in the night sky during the 16th century. The constellation is depicted with its distinctive crown shape, which is formed by the stars Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, and Eta.
