The Angel of Mons, also known as the "Mons Vision," is a reported apparition of an angel that appeared to the men of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) on August 15, 1914, during the Battle of Mons in Belgium. The BEF, outnumbered and outflanked by the German forces, were preparing for a desperate retreat. As darkness fell, the soldiers huddled in their trenches, their spirits low and their morale at an all-time low. Suddenly, a brilliant light pierced the night, and the figure of an angel appeared, clad in robes of dazzling white, with wings outstretched and a sword in hand.
