This is anaphase, when the chromosomes, which consist of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA, yellow), and are made up of two identical chromatids, are separated. With each daughter cell receiving one chromatid from each chromosome. However, in this cell the chromosomes have been separated into three. If three daughter cells are formed they will be lacking many genes and will not be viable
